The title of thesis is “Applications of fast QR-decomposition based adaptive algorithms in Space-time wireless systems”
Wireless systems require efficient adaptive algorithms to measure and to mitigate the effect of wireless channel and other sources of distortion. Main traits of an efficient algorithm are: low computational cost, and ability to reach the desired solution accurately and quickly. This dissertation focuses on a very efficient algorithm called, fast QR-decomposition recursive least-squares. The problem with this algorithm is that it does not provide the values of its solution in explicit form. Without these values a wireless system cannot measure and mitigate various distortion sources and therefore cannot function. As a result this algorithm has limited use in wireless systems. This dissertation provides a technique that uses the variables of the algorithm to produce the desired solution values which are accurate to precision limit of a computer. As a results, it is possible to apply the algorithm in wireless systems to measure and mitigate the effect of various distortion sources.
